My English journey began when I was just 7 years old, starting elementary school. From the start, I realized that what the school offered wasn’t enough to meet my goals or prepare me for the future I envisioned. So, I took matters into my own hands.
For five years, I attended private English lessons, but eventually, I decided to take full control of my learning. By diving into self-study, I discovered that neither my school nor my tutor’s methods could match the progress I achieved on my own. I received an IELTS certificate, indicating English as my second language.
In the past eight years, I’ve been the only student from my school to consistently take first place in regional English Olympiads. All that hard work paid off when I earned my spot at the University of Latvia to study English linguistics.
